When

the stairs don’t connect

the wires get crossed

and the pipes burst

know

the facade will crumble

bones will see the light

and gravity will pull you

down

but that will not be the end.

A. Monk: “Aaroneous Monk” brings to mind the image of a bumbling but well-meaning hermit who continually trips himself up in his overgrown beard as he attempts to battle evil in the world but, more often than not, forgets about the darkness in his own heart. It also sounds similar to the legendary jazz pianist Thelonious Monk, but with a faux-Greek twist. Thelonious was known for being able to maintain two disparate rhythms going at the same time with his hands seemingly disconnected from each other. That kinda sums up my struggle...
